Langtang Gosainkund-Helambu Trek

The Langtang Gosainkund-Helambu Trek takes you to a remote and spectacular region that lies north of Kathmandu, close to the Nepal-Tibetan border. Currently, the road from Kathmandu reaches up to Dhunche and Syabrubeshi, only a day’s drive away.
Firstly, the trail passes along the Langtang River into the Langtang Valley after arriving at Syabrubesi. We walk through dense forests, terraced fields, and traditional Tamang villages, crossing suspension bridges strung over wide gorges, through Buddhist territory abounding with prayer flags and memorial chortens to mark every pass and sacred places as if the trekkers feel lying in the lap of the gods.
The Langtang region still remains a relatively less explored area. Bill Tilman, a famous English mountaineer and climbing partner of Eric Shipton, has defined Langtang as one of the world’s most beautiful valleys. We exit the Helambu area by passing the holy lake of Gosainkunda and crossing the Laurebina La (4100m). Here, you can have an excellent view of Tibet and see Hindu pilgrims and yak herders on the trail before gradually dropping down the ridges towards Helambu. Helambu is known for its charming villages, Buddhist monasteries, and the warm hospitality of the Sherpa people.
The best time to do this trek is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons, when the weather is generally stable and the views are clear.
